BED EFFECTS(bad effects) of a GOOD FACE...

Liberated libidos, the care a damm attitude, the insatiable sexual appetite, infidel relationships and monotonous lifesyle devoid of thrill and fun are the causes and symptoms of a "BED EFFECTS"(bad effects). What i percieve might be completely wrong but everybody is alone from the very within. The isolated SELF has enormous fantasies, desires and wishes which gets stored in the archives of our unconscious mind, which ultimately gets manifested whenever our REAL SELF gets a chance.

Any cute face approaching a frustrated heart due to plethora of reasons as we all know can end up creating another frustrative relation which ultimately gave us stress. Even in ancient days when vatsyayana had pen down The Kamasutra the desire for the ultimate pleasure was known but maybe the reasons were not the same & its the reasons which we should fear the most. The one thing i regret among the masses of today is the Loss of strength of character which is not found among people. The hypocrisy with which we people live today has reached abysmally low. Again there might be different perceptions aas to what i am writing but i strongly feel its a big viscious cycle we land ourselves into which lays the trap for the forthcoming problems. The only respite is the choices we make in life, that is the right choice in terms of choosing a job, career, lifepartner, and everything else which can ease out things in times of crisis.

Not at all preaching, but i think Life is always beautiful and No conditions apply...Its never too late for the right things you want to do...But i believe that one should keep on taking Risk in life the last thing which would happen is we will fail...thats it...but one should keep on walking, running and rising again...

Anything to everything...

Oscar Wilde once said that "one should be in love every time and if so, one need not marry". Not an axiom in any sense but to be honest there lies some truth in what he said. Whenever i go to a public place and find a couple torn fully separated in every possible way and still living together, sharing the same bed, same lives & same children looks disenchanted in every respect. Basically I think you can love anyone at anytime if you are open to ideas, perspectives and most important without prejudices of thoughts and not person. Life and love both are the most simplest things available if we are at our natural best with complete honesty and unadulterated from within. At the end you just need that one person in the world who can understand what you say and what you dont say. though difficult to find as we all are driven by bounded rationality, as i dont know there must be someone in Brazil who can understand me very well, so it is true for China, Russia, Japan, US and most beautiful country so how can i decide that whatever i perceive is the only thing i can get and nothing else... I dont know but i cannot get that logic...

"Guzarish"---pre-view

What matters the most? Quality or Quantity? Different answers for different for different aspects. Maybe Quantitative quality or Qualitative Quantity? But when it comes to portraying an art form, there cannot be any compromise.

The promos of "Guzarrish" are so enchanting and seductive in every form of art that it requires every form of applause. Its going to be cult of a film without any doubt. Mr Bhansali has once again produced a masterpiece working with one of the most expressive actors of modern indian cinema, Hrithik roshan.Producing an art form of this level where every scene of the movie is so meticulously produced that it questions the bounded limitations the human mind has ever seen.
What needs to be revered the untiring efforts of Ram Gopal Verma in creating a list of movies despite unrevered accolades and Mr Bhansali whose Cult cinemas produces masterpieces whenever he wants it to make. That's Quality over quantity.Definitely not at all questioning any form of art produced by the talented Directors but what finally matters is that one thing in life which matters the most.

Its all about that one thing which matters the most, may it be anything. The moment of innermost revulsion's is the greatest quest which one should strive for. And Guzzarish the way it has been portrayed is worth experiencing rather than just watching it.
the way i see, it does touch every art form and the greatest form of art ever produced is ofcourse Humans---which remains to be discovered...

Socrates once said that its almost fatal to spread rumours about things which we have heard and its genuineness is not known. This has been the case with J&K since the political upheaval fuelled by seccionist forces with divisive tactics is thriving. Let me discuss some of the relevant issues which are in news. In Administration, majority people should be satisfied because you cannot please everybody and thats a universal axiom. So, Omar abdullah's persistent efforts in bringing tranquility in the State should be appreciated because sitting in an AC lounge sipping a drink in Mumbai TV studio or travelling in a Bangalore bus or in Delhi's metro commenting and raising fingers on anybody's efforts without knowing the true picture is Bad Democracy we have imbibed.

We should repose our Faith and trust in Omar abdullah's way of governance and Centre's not so pro-active policies for the time being. Loud clamouring about the Separate kashmir is baseless because except few seccesionist group which are specifically funded by Pakistan there are no such demands. Youth are always rebellious otherwise they should not be a part of Youth. They are dissatisfied because there is lack of development, dearth of job opportunities, social infrastructure lacking, feeling of alienation from India and many minor issues. But as said by someone that " Development being the best contraceptive" the Government's effort should be to bring the Kashmiri youth into mainstream Administration, mainstream politics, and mainstream India where it may give out an image of Kashmir and its people being a part of India.

Those who demand for seperate kashmir are oblivion of the fact that if that at all happens they end up being a part of Voracious China or Failed Pakistan ultimately ending like Afghanistan whose political stability is still in doldrums. If viewed rationally Kashmir's maximum revenue is generated by tourism, courtesy Amarnath Yatra, Vaishnavdevi Temple, Honeymoon hotspots like Leh, ladakh, gulmarg, Srinagar and many more, even the majority kashmiris do not want to get seperated from India's as it is not in there own interest.
Scrapping of Article 370 which gives J&K a seperate constitution and Constituent assembly should which has been one of the Election manifesto of NDA government should not be discussed now amidst the political turmoil in the valley.
AFSPA(Armed Forces Special Powers Act) which the poeple wants to get removed is neither a problem nor a solution to this unending violence. The troops which are stationed in the valley are for the protection of the people and maintaining law& order which may dissatisfy few but withdrawing it would bring more devastation inthe valley because the insurgency of any terrorist forces or from pakistan army wont be a surprise. National human Rights commission should understand that Administration cannot run pleasing everybody and we are not an EU nation where peace prevails most of time with not intrusive nature. If removed we may see another Kargil anytime which is not wanted. The government can amend some of the clauses in the Rule to make it more human so that no more innocent people are being killed and women are not raped or harrassed. Stern actions should be taken against such officers and should be court martialed but still withdrawing of AFSPA is not recommended.

Those in Authority should be respected, as they know best about J&K, about its people, demography, problems then we people who are always ready to comment. Are our Family problems solved by outsiders? The central governement should continue supporting the NC government and take apt actions.

Kitchen cabinet became popular during Indira Gandhi's reign. It consisted of small coterie of advisors, friends, relatives and close confidante. They had usurped the power of the Cabinet Secretariat, PMO as well as other constitutional institutions. But that is the convention even followed today where most of the decisions are taken at 10, Janpath Road, Delhi. Thats somewhat acceptable, lets put it that way. This is one of those colonial legacies which we have inherited from the british. The phenomenon which i have realised which existed since the evolution of Adam & Eve among the so called informed indians is the Nookkad Cabinet. At every corner, every human dwelling, any thought stimulating conglomeration, corporate houses, bus queue, que where in people are standing to relieve themselves, kitty parties and every other human existence which may be beyond my rational there is Nookkad Cabinet. The Expressive Indian, which sometimes is the bestest fruit of Democracy in India and also sometimes these Expressive Indians make us envious of the Chinese communist Government where everything is at the behest of law and order.
Once i went to a Tea corner in the city and overheard few people discussing everything right from films to politics.Felt really glad that people are so much informed and discussing the topics of urgent public concern. I heard someone saying that "Omar abdullah has proved to be a weak CM and there should elections again in the valley". Surely i didnt judge the comment but just asked one question to myself as to before even having concrete evidences, knowledge about the situation and coming to a conclusion is not only wrong but fatal to the over all culture we are spreading .I think every person is quite knowlegable in its own way and capable of taking a rational decision.Rather than respecting the position the person is in let us not be oblivion of the fact that we too have our problems and there can be some people always who would be commenting, criticising, reasoning our lifestyles. Lets stop spreading these culture where we become a liability as an Expressive Indian. It really feels so empowering when we hardly have comprehensive knowledge about any situation and still not only do we comment, but we also a solution for it. A family which consist of just 4 people still have chaos, differences, and problems in their houses which can give them a feeling of a chronic migrane all their life, still we feel it so easy to comment about a State where almost crores of people are living and to manage a better governance out it is to my knowledge is not an easy job. Nookkad Cabinet is always a desirable way of providing checks and balances to the Goverment but still let us reinstate our faith in the Constitution, people at top and be patient.Because Revolution starts from within.

If know God then ONE God, but If Many Gods then NO God...

An official chinese citizen who is officially atheist wouldnt be believing in God, destiny or say Karma? Whenever i pass by a temple i just wonder as to whom should i worship the IDLE God(IDOL God) or His creations. Should i bow my head to an Idol in the temple who as perceived by indians also sometimes drinks milk or should i inherit the basic values of humanity for what i am over here. Have you ever seen a carnivore eating grass? The fundamental characteristic of any being should never be lost, isnt it? And so in worshipping an Idol which to me is Idle relinquishing my fundamental characteristics of Being human is a hypocrisy where we cheat nobody but ourselves. I might be wrong, but its not my rational, reasoning, logical mind which says this. But may be the way " The God " has been interpreted unnerves me. Its not that i have not seen God so i dont believe Him, thats logical but puerile and not me atleast. To be precise, humanity is the religion and its creation the God. Building a billion dollar akshardham or a million dollar church or a mosque is like deminishing the human value within a God.

During Idd, i visited a mosque with a friend of mine who is a muslim. Definetely would be considered an act of blashphemy by many but then I felt nothing anomalous. Just felt the same as I visit a Hindu temple. Not at all a devout Hindu by any means, but yes what i have institutionalised is that God does not reside in the temple, mosque or church. All those are institutional mechanisms for the society to follow a norm, which is civilised in its form and acceptable by the society. The purest form of God which i have come across other than the 99.9% glittered gold idol god, is a child. If you pick up an infant, thats when You can truly say that God is in your hand because of that innocence, un corrupt, innocuous non envious heart which the God is born with...

Good fences do not necessarily make good neighbours...

Good fences do not necessarily make good neighbours as in case of China especially. China has started issuing stapled visas to Indian citizens from J&K. It has created new wrinkle on India's face as rightly quoted by Raja Mohan over its portrayal of J&K as a "disputed area". China's meteoric rise depicting its economical and political prowess worldover has dilated its delayed appetite of acquiring new territories and influencing its neighbours along its periphery.

Several military exercises between nations allayed fears over Beijing's ambition of aquring new territories. They did act as tranquilizers in Indo-Sino relation for a while. But these is colonialism in its new form where through persuasive dialogues and nudging the countries circumferencial area you can acquire territories without shedding a single drop of blood. New delhi should engage with Beijing in a comprehensive and concrete dialogue process to solve the perrenial border dispute. Beijing's ogling over J&K is a gradual shift form its policy regarding J&K.

China is in occupation of 38000 sq.km of territory in ladakh region that connects original state of J&K with two chinese provinces, Tibet & Xinjiang. China also controls another tract of 5000 sq.km in shaksgam valley that Pakistan ceded to China under 1963 treaty. Chinese PLA had built the karakoram highway in the 70s which is the passage between China and Pakistan. Though India's soft state image cannot ignore China's vigorous attempts at acquring new are altogather. Though dialogue being the only solution Delhi should lay down some cemented foreign policy which may if not yield an outcome but atleast seed a hope for the future...

Catastrophe at Wimbledon...

The mark of a great playr is that even though he looses or gets defeated it is still he who makes news and not the one who won against him. And that is what has happened at Roland garros and Wimbledon. The Swiss is a 6 time winner at wimbledon and he has not only set a precedent for others to follow but also a tradition that there can be only one winner at wimbledon and that is him. Roger, unarguably was given the title of the greatest grass-court player ever produced by his predecessors when last year he won the most coveted title winning the 6th wimbledon title. No doubt, his supremacy at grass-court was challenged by the rippling Spaniard many times but still at 28 he has the elegance and aura to be the number one player. He entered this wimbledon with apprehensions among his followers because in one of the Masters cup held at grass court he was defeated by 15 seeded Hewitt...Will have to wait to see as to how he makes a comeback... bt for the time being am eager to watch the semis and the finals...it has to be Nadal v/s Djokovic final...lets c...

On the roads of Gujarat...

Almost everywhere in and around Gujarat you may find the eccentric culture of the state and that is true with most of the states. But recently a friend of mine came from Karnataka and we went for Gujarat darshan on our own and i should say it was a deightful journey. But at end of the journey my friend noticed one thing above all that along all the major cities in Gujarat there is one common thing. And that was Narendra Modi's hoardings every few kilomitres on any road major in Gujarat. Every half a kilometre you will find one person smiling at you from a corner that is Mr. Narendra Modi. I dont about other states but the way Modi flaunts itself i think the marketing aspirants should learn something. Let us not discuss as to what he is doing is right or wrong because its an endless issue. But the question is about accountability of "public money".
It is said that hoardings all across Gujarat is costing about hundreds of crores. From where does the money comes? In a recent controversy Bihar CM Nitish kumar criticised Modi for flaunting himself in all sorts of advertisement. But who cares? What matters to people of Gujarat especially who blind-foldedly support Modi is his Hindutva face. There is s difference between Development and Growth and what we are witnessing in Gujarat is not development but Growth which is natural and not Modi-crafted. It is thought by most people residing outside Gujarat that it is one of the most non-corrupt state. But it was never. Its a catchy punch-line thats it. I know its almost impossible not to taste the honey kept on the tip of your tongue. Menace of Corruption prevails everywhere but to flaunt it just to extract some votes and reinforcing the habit of institutionalised corruption is a matter of shame. I read somewhere that " Power unravels the real Man" but here it has come true in the form of " Power unravels the Real Modi".

"Half"- World Cup...

The world is awaiting the biggest event of this year and that is the "Football World Cup" being played in South Africa. Yes, ofcourse it is special for many reasons because it is for the first time played in an African nation with an overwhelming jubiliance and fanfare. Around 25 top playing nations will qualify for this years trophy. But there was one thing which amazed , surprised me the most that is there are only two countries from Asian continent playing this world cup that is Japan and North Korea. The continent which has Maximum population, maximum land area and maximum countries are least represented. The reasons may not be apt but then how can we say that it is a "World Cup" rather it has to be termed as "Half World Cup", isnt it? If the name "World Cup" is based on viewership around the globe then the name is apt but not for any other rational reason which i could find...
The top two populous countries are not represented which almost constitutes 30% of world 's living population then is it fair enough to say that we are viewing a world cup. This reasons may look absurd but still shocking. Any game should be judged only on performance and merit and not on representation but then FIFA as world class regulatory body should promote infrastructure facilities in those countires which is lacking it. India is ranked 134th in the world not because football is unpopular or not played enough or because the denizens lack the talent but its just because of lack of infrastructural facilities and politicization of the game and ofcourse the idolization of cricket.
Qualifying rounds do provide chances and opportunities to many such countries with utmost passion but lacking facilities but of meagre help. The onus is on FIFA to see whether there is maximum representation from every corner of the world. We can only hope that this "Half World Cup " which is being played gets converted into a real "World Cup" in times to come.

An inhuman act...

The Maoist-induced derailment of the Howrah-Kurla Jnanesari Express in West Bengal, which led to the death of over 140 people is inhuman and outrageous. It clearly shows that the Maoist have no human values. They misled the underprivileged sections and want to seize power int he name of revolution. They will never agree to talks with the government as their aim is to capture power after overthrowing the state. Nor will they allow development in the regions they dominate as they will end up losing people's support if the locals tase the fruits of development. The government should take strong decisions and go for a full-fledged attack on them.
One hopes the state will act decisively before it is paralysed. One failure to act will demoralise the security forces. The naxal-infested regions can develop only when the writ of the state is reinforced there. Centre should evolve a coordinated approach settin aside their political differences, nothing concrete can be done. It has also put a big question mark on our internal security.
The huge disparity in development even after six decades of independence has served as an interface between the educated and ideologically motivated naxal leaders and the illiterate tribals whose minds are ready to accept but not analyse any ideology. Naxalism has gained more space mainly due to the failure of the state and mainstream political leaders.
The naxal affected "Red-Corridor area" should be tackled with centre-state coordination.

My last prelims...

So, finally i gave my last prelims of my life. though it has been an exhaustive tryst with UPSC but surely not less fascinating. It was on 23rd of may on a scorhing summery afternoon in ahmedabad. I was lucky to have witness the toughest paper of general studies in the history of UPSC. All this days i was on an " academic vacation" surrounded by plethora of books right from khushwant singh's latest to ancient historical literary. Though i would like to leave UPSC with a winning note but then wont lament if land on any side. Its been a delightful journey and I am lucky that i made this choice to be a part of this collosal examination considered the toughest in the world.

Insecurity prevails i know that but "risk to saala spiderman ko bhi lena padta hai hum to phir bhi insaan hai ". I know planning always helps to create a better future but the best things happen when it is unplanned. Try it sometimes.

Jeffery Archer was in bombay few weeks ago and I would like to share some excerpts from his speech. He is basically an avid fan of cricket and was commenting on the significance of working hard with respect to talent in terms of cricket. He said that, " If you are talented and you work hard then you can be Sachin tendulkar, if you are hard working and not talented then you can be Rahul dravid(i know rahul is talented but it is his opinion and we need to respect individual differences), but if a person is talented and not hard working then he is a pauper ".

MOVE-ies of the month...

It’s been long time since I have taken up blogging. Finally my pent up feelings have reached its crescendo so couldn’t stop myself writing. Movies and books are keeping me busy nowadays. I have watched a lot of movies this month and would suggest every moviegoer to watch in your leisure. If you are a pet lover and want to watch a slow pace movie and love experimenting then do watch this movie named “Eight Below”. The way movies are made in the west I really feel it’s a lo`ng arduous path for the Indian film industry to ever reach their level of expertise, character framing and of course the script.
Then if you want to have a laughter riot in a wacky way then go for this movie “How to lose friends and alienate people” again a startling performance by all the characters.
One of my personal favourite if you go by the character performances then a must watch is “The last king of Scotland”. The lead role played by Forrest Whitaker has received an Oscar for this role played by him. Coming to our Indian cinema I did watch “Chhoti si baat” by the genius Hrishikesh mukherjee. I just love that guy. Even after several decades you watch his film you are enchanted by the cinematography, the livewire performances, the screenplay and everything else I have missed. These are my genre of films which I love watching repeatedly.

I have heard people saying that Aamir khan is better actor than shah rukh khan. Mass is always right, let me agree to it. Shah Rukh Khan is not a bad actor either but I will tell you what makes them look different. Just go back and remember any of the films of Aamir khan you must have watched say for example “Sarfarosh” the good thing about aamir khan’s performance is you don’t remember the person in real but the character in the movie. I never remember Aamir khan in any of his movies but only the character he has played. In “sarfarosh” I don’t remember Aamir khan but instead of that I remember A.C.P. Rathod and that’s the mark of a great actor. And fortunately or unfortunately Shah Rukh khan lacks this. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. I would say SRK is a charmer and persona unlimited. Even in the best of performances I don’t remember the character he has played but simply remember SRK. And I think he has no regrets because the world appreciates him because of that. One should do what he is best at. And so Aamir is surely a better actor but SRK a better entertainer, charmer and hero.

Quite alarming...

Melinda Gates' interview to N.Ram(Editor in Chief of The Hindu) was fascinating. What can one say about the exemplary corporate social responsibility of a couple who hope hope that 50 years after their death "all their money would have been given away" to the society from which it was earned?

Our Prime Minister claimed during his recent Riyadh visit that India will grow at 9 % in 2010-11. Yet we are in need of a foreigner to come here and pump in her millions just for "keeping all kids alive," not to mention addressing their all round development. This is not surprising because in 2010-11 Union budget, the share of childre(who make up 42% of our population) was just 4.6%. Not long ago, the UPA government promised in its Common Minimum Programme that it would raise its public expenditure on health and education to 9% of the GDP by 2009. Perhaps one reaso for this promise being not fulfilled is official ignorance or denial of the fact that 77% of our population is living below Rs. 20 a day...

power of " lying "...

There is a thin line between lying and diplomacy where diplomacy is driven by brain and lying by heart …I do lie when I feel that my lying would make the person happy and smiling…I do lie when I feel that it would make the person feel good even if for the shortest moment…I do lie when I think it would give hope to others…I do lie when I feel I am not answering the most fundamental question…I do lie even though I would be relinquishing my own self and making others happy…I do lie when my friends need sympathy more then strength…I do lie to unravel the truth from within…I do lie when people want short term happiness and not long term miseries…I do lie when I say I am human…I do lie not to earn money but surely a million dollar smile…I do lie to make others live…I honestly lie to bring an honest smile… …I do lie when the question involved is unethical and insignificant but would do whole lot of good to others…I do lie to a child bringing end to his tantrums and showering smiles…I do lie when I loose but makes me keep trying…I don’t lie when I look myself in the front of the mirror…

Never lie to survive but always speak truth to live…

Miracle called democracy

Aung sang suu kyi the democratic stalwart and Nobel laureate of Myanmar has been under house arrest since many years. Myanmar which has been under the reign of armed forces has once again prohibited the pro-democracy leader Suu kyi to contest the forthcoming elections. Myanmar is one of those countries where there is 20% reservation for armed forces in the parliament.

When you look at the world around you there is abundant civil strife, disparaging rule of law, masquerading the principles of democracy everywhere. Thailand frequently faces military coup, there is political instability in Bangladesh during the rule of sheikh hasina , Laos and Cambodia are continuously facing domestic rebellion. In the West Pakistan with powerful military rule and loose civil government is facing problem from every quarter.
Hamid karzai’s attempt at revamping Afghanistan future is unsure as is at Taliban’s helm.
African continent is worst hit as there is least administrative development, civil war, acute food crisis and pandemic disease except for few countries like South Africa, Nigeria and Egypt. There are Central American countries like Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua where there umpteen cases of domestic armed rebellion taking democracy at back foot. Many of the Latin American countries like Bolivia, Peru, and Suriname are under severe economic debt. EU nations are prosperous enough but still peace is shattered very often in the name racial riots and other problems. Middle East and west Asian nations except the opulent few are under severe civil strife may it be Iraq, Palestine or Syria.
Over here Nepal after the over turn of monarchy is still struggling to achieve full fledged democracy. Every major country big or small is facing some sort of political instability, economic downturn or civil strife…

I really admire the way our democracy runs. I know there are worst problems then ever before but still am amazed at the survival of democracy despite of vociferous noises from every corner who wants their own India. I don’t know how this country is governed because it’s a miracle that amidst enormous adversities and diversities India stands united even if it is for namesake. I am simply amazed as how things work in India. An average Indian faces tremendous difficulties living in India but still what actually unites these divisive cultures is still a mystery to me. No wonder why people fly abroad and settle there for better life style, but still I would never leave my country not because of patriotic fervor but because this land simply amazes me. It makes me think, observe, write, change, revolutionize and enjoy. It simply gives me an inspiration to be human once again.

The Hurt Locker: (movie through my lens)

The Hurt Locker: (movie through my lens)
It’s actually too late to review this film and as such winner need not justify but just out of curiosity I happened to view this movie after the academy awards were declared at the lovely Kodak theatre.
It’s a movie about an elite bomb diffusing group which is stationed in Baghdad, Iraq. The movie revolves around how this elite group moves around the deserted streets of Baghdad diffusing bombs (IED-improvise explosive device) and the lives of the troops at such war places.

Applause:
It’s an eye opener in one sense because we all have been reading all kinds of stories about the NATO and the American troops staying there amidst all kinds of adversities. People get to watch a complete view of lives of people as well as the soldiers of a war stricken country and what human lives does cost? Reading in the newspaper or watching a clipping in any news channel does not give a true portrait about the people living in any war ravaged country may it be Iraq, Afghanistan or Palestine…Scenes from the movie surely thrill you as if you are watching it live on TV…The director has aptly shown the reality.

Yawn:
For any Oscar winning movie dialogues play a major part and more if it’s a war movie. The dialogues don’t stir you enough and do not back the screenplay and action part of the movie.
Background score of the movie is weak which would have created a profound impact on the scenes. The background score in any movie gives that killer punch to any scene alltogether with apt dialogues because it has the ability to create realistic intensity among the viewers. May be the director wanted to keep it very real but I don’t think so it has helped. (but surely she got an oscar for that)
Enemy at the gates, Saving Private Ryan or behind the enemy lines, all these are Great War movies. The best thing about any war movie is how aptly the emotions are shown not during the action scenes but behind those scenes where i think the director has failed.( butwho cares, she has got an oscar)

O-scar:
Sometimes throughout the movie you get a feel as if you are watching a documentary on Iraq war. Direction of the movie is intense. Screenplay is very apt. Characters have performed within their mould. But film not only includes direction but also the story. Just to commemorate international woman’s day and make history you can’t award a film which may not be the best. Making a low-budget film is also not an excuse because there is another film called The messenger which has been made with half the budget of the former.
I definitely would not give Oscar to The hurt locker. Though Oscar has this peculiarity of awarding films which may not be popular among the cinema goers and standing out in genre but still I found many things which could have been modified.

Cricket v/s Sports

Every year Laureas Sports awards are given to fellicitate the best happening in sports(its sports and not cricket). This year the ceremony was in Abu Dhabi. I was least amazed that none of the cricketing greats were even nominated among different categories. Roger federer has been consecutively awarded the best sports person for two years. Usain bolt took the honours this time around.
Sachin with his double century made news only in the subcontinent as we have cricket culture and not sports culture. Sports have never been our strength with poor infrastructure and politicization of sports personnel. Hockey being our so called national sports, we dont even have enough hockey astro turfs in our country. Netherlands a country of ths size of gujarat has more hockey turfs than we in India have...
Vancouver winter olympics were a sight to watch where our asian country like china, korea and japan brought honour and prestige to their own country. There is no doubt that we have plethora of such talents but not ready to bring it beyond cricket.

woo-man for reservation...

Whenever i feel like observing India and its people very closely then I prefer traveling by bus...on one hot summery monsoon day as we experience nowadays in India i boarded a bus. The bus was thronged by people of all ages...fortunately I found a seat in the first instance...but then i saw a lady coming behind me with a four year old kid in her lap. Being altruistic and being so much influence the manipulative media making people realize there duties and responsibilities. ..Just for there own business purpose I gave her my seat...Then the rest of the journey I preferred standing chewing gum which helped me observe and contemplate the state of women in our country...
Then at one end I saw a board saying that this seats are reserved for women and under it I saw 6 young students chatting humorously and inadvertently without knowing that besides them were few ladies standing with a gloomy face on...I actually don’t blame the guys for it but I blame the women of our country. despite of such efforts done by government for empowering women’s plight, the women themselves do not want pull themselves off the quagmire...man will always be like man symbolizing dominance but to be aware of one's right is significant. ..That is where I feel education matters the most...It’s a small issue but I actually felt helpless at such sight...
Neither I am a feminist nor trying to be one...But I don’t think we are too different from the Taliban is who consider women nothing but a sex object...We may revere them a bit more that’s it. They are more unabashed and we are more hypocrites. .As far as we try being humans....Its just the time to wake up...being educated we can certainly bring change in the society...And believe me its not boring as it looks...Everyone can do it in its own creative way...Lets bring some change in the society or else there will be men and women in this world but no humans..Lets try to be one..

Jealous Gods

Lord Indra: What the hell is going down on Earth? I heard sounds of celebration. Are they praying for me?
Narad muni: Lord, the celebration is going from our main Hindu bastion Hindustan…those people already have 33crore gods to worship and they have added one more…
Lord Indra(in rage) : New God!!! Who is he? Is he an avatar of Lord Vishnu, Krishna or Ram? Tell me…
Narad muni: No Lord. Don’t get angry. He just plays cricket…and he has become GOD…His name is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar…He is human, 37 yrs old, short, plump and girls love him…He is worshipped throughout the country like God…government and private companies all are endorsing him…
Lord Indra: Huh!! Narad please don’t give me that crap. Are you also following him?
Narad muni: No Sir. I am a big fan of Tiger woods…He is so human and never tries to be GOD
Lord Indra: But I read the times of India on internet and it said today they were going to have their Railway budget…
Narad muni: O lord. This is India .Who cares about the Railway budget. People want entertainment. Only if Katrina kaif(the hottest babe of Bollywood, Lord) would have presented the Railway budget then it would have made news. Lord , even Commonwealth shooting championship is going on where India has won more than 12 medals till now but it is hardly making news. People here are crazy after cricket and movies and nothing else they want.
Lord Indra: But I have updated myself through internet and I have heard that the country has several problems like over population, naxalism, India-Pakistan conflict, terrorism and many more like this…
Narad muni: Lord, I told you that they just want entertainment. There are few manipulative people who run the whole country and people follow them whole heartedly. People are good-natured but ignorant of the real things…Lord, I suggest you to curse the country with floods, tsunami or earthquakes so that people will start worshipping You again and not the man-made Gods…
Lord Indra: Narad, we are God and not humans…Never give me such false advise I warn you…Let sachin and people like him prosper…He is human and He is a blessed soul…I too was human once…So I will do one thing that when he makes any speech I will make him utter that, “whatever I am today is all because of Lord Indra” so people will start worshipping me again. the indianness of being argumentative

I was biking down the road not aggressively which I innately do whether while speaking, writing, pulsaring, driving, eating or having great *** (fun, I meant). That’s also how people know me. So chanting a song as if Sonu Nigam’s soul has entered mine, I suddenly happened to stop my bike as I saw a car guzzling down towards me. Both of us applied the breaks at the same time. A slang instantly came out from my mouth but it died before coming out because I knew that both the vehicles and the lives were safe so Its better not to create a hue and cry about the failed accident. Both the vehicle was just inches away from each other. The skidding sound of the car created huge shrilled noise and caught everybody’s attention. It just appeared to me that a scene from movie “Dhoom” has been recreated. Nobody was hurt (talking of cars, because objects happens to be more precious then lives nowadays). The incident happened in the middle of a busy cross-road. Few people came down there within no time as they had already anticipated some sort of clash. I always wonder as to why other people are so much delightfully interested in other people’s problems unless being called for. Maybe they know that their problems are beyond redemption so let’s dip our beak into others problems. No wonder, why humans are called sadist and especially Indians. I think no one can compete with India in terms of GDP(GOSSIP domestic product). I thought it meaningless in standing there anymore but suddenly the person from the car came out and started staring me as if he is the police and I have committed some heinous crime and going to kill me right away. My eyes retorted back with the same intensity with which he stared. For a minute I thought he is the 007 James bond and I am the culprit. People were anxiously biting their nails off as if world war III is going to start. We were in the midst of jammed traffic road. He loaded himself with all slang he had learned and was about to launch it. People were shouting from behind to disperse and as in India there are always free mediators, arbitrators and counselors who came in to delay the launch of deadly slang missile from his mouth. Then suddenly an ambulance came from behind to which we all dispersed, though the driver was unsatisfied so he noted my bike’s number. As if there was no other work left. I went home oblivion of the whole incident and slept till the evening.

In the evening I happened to visit the crossword and co-incidentally I happened to pick “The Argumentative Indian” written by Amartya sen. In this book he has synonymised argumentative nature of Indians with traditional historical, cultural and social milieu in which our ancestors right from the Vedic times resided, in a 350 page epic I should say. I read some excerpts from the book and it was truth revealing. But looking at the contemporary scenario around the world I think that every denizen of every developing nation ultimately gets cultivated, molded into an “argumentative being”. The society has an inherent quality of molding a person’s terseness into loquacity & tranquility into chaoticity. Right from price bargaining at the vegetable vendor to a high profile mall we all are inherently argumentative where only our subtlety gets changed in the latter. Right from Birlas to Banias argumentativeness is manifested through different forms. I asked a person standing besides me as to why people are argumentative. He was reading Khushwant Singh’s book interestingly (I realized that I have committed a sin) and I happened to broke his erotic concentration so he frowned and snarled at me and said, don’t disturb. He himself started argument ting as to why am I asking such uninteresting question at this time? (Obviously when you are reading khushwant Singh’s novels everything else looks dull). He added hurriedly and angrily, what’s wrong if one is argumentative, its one’s own inherent right. I completely surrendered to this argument as I lost the debate 10-0 and did not argue further. But I thanked him as he gave me this new perspective that its one own fundamentally fundamental right.

Argumentation is both constructive and destructive and we all are aware of that. But we always make a conscious attempt to convert a constructive argument into a destructive one. So what is it which makes a person an argumentative animal? Is it Ego, Money, Stress, Frustration, insatiable desires, heredity, chaoticity, Democracy, marriage, boss in the office, price rise, cricket, splitsvilla, swayamwars, big talk shows, News breaking channels or just being oneself. The reasons can be numerous but the solution lies within. Let us be voraciously argumentative when it is actually needed rather than meaninglessly argumentative.

Let there be an argument for global peace and not global piece; let there be an argument for love and not hatred; let there be an argument against injustice; let there be argument for one India and not many India’s; let there be an argumentative protest against something wrong; and finally let there be an argument for “We” and not for “I”. Let there be constructive arguments which may bring innovations, path-breaking Concepts and ultimately smile and not grudges.

my --chaotic-- self

Every game, every profession has a master, an icon, a performer, a God. Tennis has Roger federer, acting has Amitabh bachchan, leadership has Obama and so it is true for every profession in the world. But have you ever heard a sex-worker getting applauded, popular, getting hall of the fame status. do we ever say that he or she is the best one in the business so lets hire them. may be not.its not because they are despised, denigrated or considered a taboo in our society.its all because they dont completely love their work.most of them are thrown into the business during their school going days.none among them ever is emotional, passionate and obsessed about their work.what they finally aspire for is money.you all might disagree but life is all about emotions.that is one thing which differentiates us from machines.
life is a big conundrum thats what people say, and thats true as even i have experienced it sometimes but still i like to play it simple but not straight. like this , i am confounded with one such significant question. i just dont understand one question i.e. why do we need to do something. sometimes maturity, stability, steadiness seems so borring and pathetic. to get embroiled in responsibility seems as if your own freedom is lost.whenever i go out i am inundated with questions as to what do i do?toh kya sudhi aayu, tane toh aaram chhe ne, IAS clear thase ke nai, and all non-sensical questions.
i wonder that i dont even have the freedom to dream, aspire and fly.how can i make them understand that sometimes journey itself is the destination. is it not enough that i am living.why do anyone needs to prove that he or she is an IAS, CA, MBA or Doctor. The lens through which society peeps is blurred and myopic. even if i become an IAS someday i would still remain that bloody, naughty, indulgent varun.i would attached more power, authority, prestige and staus to myself thats it.i agree that one needs to responsible and self dependent.but i sometimes wonder as why we need to work. its not that one should be conplacent and lazy. but i think everybody should work or do a job or whatever they do to earn money because ultimately they like it and not because they should.lets work if you enjoy and money be the by-product. i promise you 'll be bestowed with opulent wealth.its not at all questioning one's ambition or desire.if you are not doing what you love ,just pack your bags and go home. but yes if its a means to an end then continue with it.i think i am blessed in the sense i am getting the fruits of the hardwork of my lovely parents. people do have compulsion to work hard and earn money for bread butter.but the point i want to make is that lets not pigeon-hole anybody with respect to its credentials and degrees.dont machinesed our work process for achieving some credentials in the society which finally leaves you dehumanised and emotion-less.
i hate the term emotional intelligence when acheiving success makes you think more from brain and less from heart. challenge, competition, jealousy are so outdated virtues and piece makers and peace breakers.lets not weigh people on the merit of degrees, awards, certificates scripted on one's resume. both IPS and PSI are humans with contrasting classes and grades.its not that i am not ambitious otherwise i wouldnt have chosen larger then life dream of clearing IAS.but i think everybody is talented outhere.you just need to believe in the power of your dreams.
do you know what i want to do? i want to travel the whole world.i want to learn people, cultures , behaviours and ultimately dream. my best part of the day is wheni sleep as thats the only time i can be myself and i can dream. maybe thats not the most pragmatic way of living life.i know finally money matters and all that. but still whenever in life you get a chance live your dream.
atleast start doing one thing from tonight that is dream unlimited!!( without putting logic into it).

my name is khan:the film through my lens

my name is khan:movie through my lens
making a film on rare abnormalities is i think in vogue.no wonder after the success of tare
zameen par & paa, this film is made. may be in the era of consumerism symapthy and emotions
are expensively sold.we, the people are tired of watching movies which shows
muslim-terrorism nexus redundantly.everybody is trying to acheive sucess on this sensitive
issue. But my name is khan is a good movie...its a movie about an abnormal person achieving
extraordinary feet.so whats so differrent between other movies showcasing same subject like
new york, kurbaan, khuda key liye and many more.the difference lies where in other movies
the script says that a muslim is not a terrorist but he is a muslim where in MNIK rizwan
khan proudly enunciates that he is a muslim & he is not a terrorist buttt though he is a
muslim , he is human first and muslim later.the movie upholds the principle of humanity...
in the era where humanity is standing at crossroads, this movie has done well to showcase
this fundamental princile of being human. coming to acting performance, shah rukh khan who
has been the epitome of charisma, glamour and persona despite of being completely
contradictory in this role has surely won several accolades...his acting prowess is worth
appreciating...watch it for SRK for sure...
the first half is very cliche, dialogues dont have the intensity to stir you from within, the
plots sometimes looks typical bollywood style, butt butt at the end of the movie, the
simplicity of the protagonist is adorable...its all bout how humanity survives under all
odds...
its always great to watch shah rukh and kajol back togather...natural melodrama is aptly
shown by kajol and other co actors...
but i have two issues whichi cant get away with it...first, there must be millions of khans
living in india as well as abroad and the innocent one are shouting and pronouncing since
years that they are muslims, they are khans and they are not terrorist...but are those
voices heard? ask yourself? i dont think so...actually those voices are crushed...so one
thing is clear that if you are a khan and we know you are not a terrorist but for your voice
to be heard you need to be someone like shah rukh khan...means famous and rich...otherwise
you wont be heard as it is going on since years...think over it...because maybe i have a
solution but may be its not plausible and acceptable nowww...second issue is that i think
the movie has a lot of similarity with the oscar winning movie forrest gump .dont say an outright no, watch it for yourself to discover it.
